What is 3D Laser Scanning & Mapping?
With the use of a mobile mapping system or a terrestrial 3D laser scanner, a digital copy of an environment can be captured resulting in an exact reproduction as a 3D model. The scanner achieves this by emitting laser light which bounces off the surfaces of anything within line of sight and reflects back to the machine. During a single scan millions of co-ordinates of surfaces are recorded as well as colour information for texturing of the 3D geometry captured. The end result is a copy of the real world building or object as a detailed 3D model.

The Overall Benefits? Save Time & Capture Detail with your Project
Save Time - Anything within a large radius of a 3D laser scanner is captured as a digital copy. Industrial, commercial or residential buildings, in the context of their surroundings, can be made into 3D models ready for builders, project managers, architects and 3D artists to view and integrate with their workflow.

Capture Detail - Any site, no matter how well it is documented with traditional means (i.e. 2D survey plan, photographs, video etc) will present challenges in truly understanding the built form and context of the surrounding environment. 3D laser scanning allows you to experience your project remotely at any time given it allows for an exact replica of your site; a digital twin.
